Eight Years at One Company, and What I Would Do Differently

Drop the post hero image

Junior to team leader in the same building. The trade-offs nobody mentions.

This is placeholder body copy for the post template. Replace it with your own writing. The layout holds a comfortable 66-character measure so long technical passages stay readable, with room for code blocks, callouts and inline links.

Where It Starts

Every project of this shape begins the same way: a working prototype that proves the idea, and then the far longer job of making it dependable. The prototype takes a weekend. The dependability takes months.

What follows is the part worth writing down: the decisions that were not obvious at the time, and the ones I would make differently now.

What I Would Keep

Boring infrastructure, aggressive logging, and a contract between services that a new developer can read in one sitting. Everything clever should live in the product, not in the plumbing.
